Why we Give
Giving is an act of worship that allows us to participate in the work of Jesus, bless others, and make an eternal impact. The Bible teaches that faithful giving is an expression of our trust in God and our commitment to His Kingdom:
"For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints— and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us." — 2 Corinthians 8:3-5
At the Peoples Church, we don’t give to receive - we give because God calls us to be generous. Everything we have belongs to Him, and when we give, we are offering back to God, not just supporting a church. (Psalm 50:12)

The Biblical Principles of Giving
First-place: God deserves the first and best of what we have. (Proverbs 3:9)
Consistent: Regular giving strengthens our faith, our stewardship, and our church. (1 Corinthians 16:2)
Church-based: Our giving should start with our local church, where we serve and grow. (Malachi 3:10, 1 Corinthians 16:2)
Joyful: Giving is an act of love and gratitude toward God. (2 Corinthians 9:7, 1 Chronicles 29:9)
Grace-filled: We are called to generosity, not out of obligation, but through the grace of Christ. (2 Corinthians 8:7-8, Proverbs 11:25)
Proportionate: Giving a portion of our income helps us steward God’s blessings well. (Deuteronomy 16:17, 1 Corinthians 16:2)
Sacrificial: At times, God may lead us to give beyond our comfort to meet a need and grow in faith. (2 Corinthians 8:3-4)

A Heart of Generosity
Tithing (giving our first fruits) teaches us to put God first in our lives. When we trust Him with our finances, He promises to provide:
"Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need." — Malachi 3:10
Through our generosity, we support the church, care for those in need, and advance the gospel. Thank you for being part of God’s work!
